aidScans 4.2

First public version of the application. The program takes set of object slices provided by a scanner. The software is used for medical imaging purposes, especially for brain tumors (obtained from MRI and CT scanners) volume calculations. The program is useable for breast, chest, liver and another organs tumor calculations as well as in different areas like geology. This is possible because the application supports open input/output formats interfaces which allow easy and fast integration with custom file formats and data exchange with existing applications.
Key features of the program are: multi-image working area, which allows you manipulation and editing of similar slices; window/center correction also known as brightness/contrast; manual selection tool; auto-selection tool for solid sub-parts with similar density: some types of tumors, hollow spaces, organs etc.; border tool for manual separation of different sub-parts but with similar density; volume and area estimation dialog.
There are some features that are still in development or under testing and ones not included to current release:
  • 3D-view was disabled;
  • DICOM and Analyze data formats are not supported;
  • saving of the current model is not supported;
  • tumor data sample was not included to installation.
Input/output data formats. DICOM and Analyze data formats are already in development. However, if you need another format support or would like to work with DICOM or Analyze file formats you should send an e-mail so that author would be able to arrange development priorities properly. Developers are able to add their own input file formats implementing AnyIntelliIO interfaces (AnyIntelliIO.dll) themselves. Integration details would be published on site soon, but feel free contacting the author.
